The ICAR-IIWBR library has been playing an important role in serving the needs of scientists and other staff of the institute. Library is well furnished, fully air-conditioned and has rare and large good collection of books, journal, reports, and magazines pertaining to wheat and barley research. Always efforts are made to further strengthen the collections with the help of the Library Advisory Committee (LAC) which deals with the issues pertaining to purchase of scientific books/journals etc.

Books:
The institute library has fine collection of books mainly related to mandate of institute besides including books on other subject such as agronomy, soil science, genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology, plant pathology, entomology, computer science, statistics, chemistry and biochemistry, and hindi literature etc.
Journals:
Library subscribes national and International journals in print related to institute’s mandate. A good collection of journals is strength of the library.
Co-ordinated progress reports:
The institute library is a depository of all the annual progress reports of different disciplines (Resource management, crop improvement, crop protection, quality and basic sciences, social sciences, barley network) of All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Wheat and Barley (AICRP).
Reference Collections:
A large collection of Annual report, newsletter of various national, International Organization, gratis publication, Book, Foreign Journal, encyclopedia, dictionaries, atlases are available to retrieve the desire information.

Online access of e-journals of different publishers viz. Springer, Science Direct, Annual Review, CSIRO, Taylor & Francis etc., is provided to the users of the institute. Through this service the user can access Consortium for E-resources in agriculture (CeRa) (url: http://www.cera.jccc.in)
Also, through Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA), ICAR about 1174 e-books along with 17 e-book series of Elsevier are accessible to the institute through Sciencedirect.com via registered IP addresses.
